Sarah, Bristol, and Levi

by: Dark Wraith

This article in summary is also being added as an update to "The Rumor about Sarah," published here at Big Brass Blog on August 31, 2008.

In what might be characterized as a remarkable coincidence, Sarah Palin, GOP nominee John McCain's running mate, has announced that her 17-year-old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant. Rumors had been swirling in the Blogosphere that Gov. Palin had faked her last pregnancy to cover for her daughter, who was absent from school for almost five months with what the family claimed was a case of mononucleosis (see "The Rumor about Sarah," for details). Now, however, with the announcement that the unmarried Bristol was pregnant in April of this year, it would be highly unlikely, but not impossible, for Palin's latest child, Trig, who was born April 18, 2008, to have been Bristol's.

The Palin family is not releasing information about the individual who impregnated Bristol, other than that his first name is "Levi," and that he is going to marry Bristol. While the family's discretion in protecting the young man is admirable given that Gov. Palin is now making her daughter a public figure to kill a rumor, the question of his age is a matter of concern, given that Bristol might have been 16 years old at the time he impregnated her.

While not serving as a ringing validation of Gov. Palin's firm stance in favor of abstinence-only education, the announcement of Bristol's pregnancy, as stunningly convenient as the situation is, should nevertheless pretty much end any questions about who gave birth to Trig.

At least for the time being.

The Dark Wraith will take his shotgun to the wedding in case Levi plans to accessorize his tux with running shoes.

Duh.......that's a short trip!

I'm surprised he didn't add: ".Oh Did I Mention I'm A POW."

"While not serving as a ringing validation of Gov. Palin's firm stance in favor of abstinence-only education..."

...it does stand as an example of how "abstinence-only education" doesn't work.

Good evening, Foiled Goil.

Well, yes and no.

No, abstinence-only sex education does not work if the goal is to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

On the other hand, yes, abstinence-only sex education does work if the goal is to produce a full quiver of new warrior children for God, country, and the occasional family photo opportunity with the wide-angle lens.

The Dark Wraith considers the success of abstinence-only sex education rather difficult to assess.

I don't believe Bristol is pregnant. I do believe Trig is her baby and she's still carrying a little extra weight from her pregnancy. If Palin wanted to stop rumors about Bristol being Trig's mother, she could have supplied a birth certificate. There is something very wrong with this whole situation. I don't for a minute believe that "Levi" exists.
by: Nash (contact) - 01 Sep '08 - 21:49
Haha, I believe Levi exists and might be my ex... lol, aside from that, I don't believe Bristol is preggers now... I agree she is still carrying the baby weight from Trig (what the hell kind of name is that?!) and I think they are going to go Brangelina style and adopt a baby to coincide with the supposed birth- Just to quell rumours that she is the mother of Trig, this is my conspiracy theory.

It's interesting that we've had new commenters on this issue, and not many on the really important ones, isn't it? eek

Costly war and occupation?

Taking care of the troops?

Failing Economy?

Shredding the Constitution?

Presidential signing statements?

Outing a CIA agent?

Refusing Congressional subpoenas?

Illegal wire-tapping?

From the comments at Richard Blair's AllSpinZone on the Palin business:

"...a far more relevant tidbit is that Mrs. Palin was formerly a member of the Alaskan Independance Party, which advocates for Alaska to secede from the Union."

Good evening, and welcome, Chelsea Girl.

I hate to tell you this, but you are officially thinking along the lines of a true conspiracy theorist, namely, your host, the Dark Wraith.

Your idea crossed my mind awhile ago, and I quickly said to myself, "Naw. People don't do things like that."

Everything was okay until a little while later, when this little voice inside my head whispered, "They're Republicans, you twit."

I need to lay off this whole subject; it's making me hear voices.

The Dark Wraith was in a better state of mind writing about the utter destruction of the United States economy.
by: Dark Wraith (contact) - 02 Sep '08 - 00:14
And besides, if I write about the economy, the rule of law, and a whole range of other issues, I can go after McCain and Obama.

I'll feel better when both the Republicans and the Democrats dislike my attitude.

The Dark Wraith feels weird when people like him.

This was Sarah in late term, 1989:

Now...

Below is Sarah in late term, 2008

I'm not disputing you, Wraith. But she does look kind of "overweight" in this photo.

And, (supposedly), these are from March 2008. There has been a LOT of scrubbing done recently, because I have seen this same picture (the one on the left in the link) linked at other sites which now no longer exist, and several in fact had a link to that particular photo (which also existed on other sites). A few photos no longer exist at the Anchorage Daily News, too...

The photo gallery count seems to have also changed since I looked there Sunday night. I thought there were around 60-62, then.
by: Foiled Goil (contact) - 02 Sep '08 - 02:31
Good evening, Foiled Goil.

Yes, I've been watching the scrubbing going on all day long. I've seen it before, too, when photos of certain celebrities in compromising shots vanish from the major search engines. I've also seen it with other photos, too, over the past couple of years.

Now, with respect to that second photo, above, I want you to bear in mind that this is a shot at what was supposedly the seventh month or so of her pregnancy. She gave birth to a preemie at the eighth month. This premature infant—a child with Down's Syndrome—had a birth weight of about six-and-a-half pounds, which is well within the normal, full-term birth weight of an American. That means this woman, if that photo was at about the seventh month, should have been looking like a walking house.

She doesn't. At best (or worst), she looks, just as you noted, a little overweight, not seven months pregnant with a fetus that was born a month later at the birth weight of a healthy, full-term baby.

That, Foiled Goil, is the rub. The official story does not pass the smell test: she didn't tell anyone outside her family about the pregnancy until the seventh month; her daughter was in apparent seclusion for four to five months prior; she dilly-dallied around in Texas, on a plane, then on a trip to a favored hospital after her water supposedly began to break.

No.

No, no, no. Whatever the real story is, Sarah Palin's story has too many "Wait a minute" parts to it.

And now, suddenly, she's trotting out a tearfully family-values-oriented story about that same daughter now being with child?

Foiled Goil, did I ever tell you that I was born at about at about 1:00 a.m.? Well, I was. That means I was born at night.

I was not, however, born last night.

I swear, if I'd have told a story like Palin's to my preacher, he would have personally escorted me to Hell and said to Satan, "Here. This one's yours. He can't even make up a decent fib."

You know what? That's why I never tried to look my pastor in the eye when I told him I'd been a good kid all week.

Good early morning to you, Dark Wraith.

You know I do understand what you are saying, Wraith. Indeed, there are way too many "wait a minute" moments for my tastes. And our local news reported that the daughter is "about" 5 months along, which also leaves some room for conjecture.

Speaking of room: I must also add that Gov. Palin does not appear (to me, anyway) to be very tall. I don't know how tall she really is, but from what I have seen with shorter women, there is a lot less "baby room" on a smaller woman than with a taller sized one during pregnancy. There must be some kind of mathematical size/volume thing that works that all out.

Foiled Goil was born during the day (12:13 p.m.), but it sure wasn't yesterday.
by: Foiled Goil (contact) - 02 Sep '08 - 03:25
I'm willing to believe the baby is Sarah Palin's and that she knew before it was born that it was a trisome baby AND that her irresponsible and reckless conduct of traveling whilst in an advanced state of pregnancy AND her taking a dangerous flight AFTER her water broke, were all efforts on her part to make it as possible as she could without actually having an abortion, of KILLING THAT CHILD. Her homemade abortive efforts failed and the baby somehow survived.

Not home taking care of it? She doesnt' give a shit about it obviously. Sheesh.
by: cleansweep2008 (contact) - 02 Sep '08 - 07:42
As far as Bristol carrying any baby fat, NO! , NO!. Palin's don't get fat. Sarah didn't and I suspect that you won't see much fat on Bristol in the next four months either. Look at the photos, That child knows who it's mother is. rolleyes

Let's just assume everything is a lie until proven otherwise. (However, that does not apply to Dark Wraith's comment in his post "The Rumor about Sarah".)

A moose gun wedding at the white house and a self proclaimed expletive deleted redneck sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom. These are fine family values of the evangelical hype-ocrites.
