My Favorite Representative

by: blackdog

Thank gawd this creature isn't from my state of confusion.

John Boner, (R) Ohio. Maybe we could get him a date with that weird-o from Idaho that misuses restrooms in public facilities then can't figure out whether he's innocent or guilty. You know, that "handsy" or "footsy" thing. Bet he'd get a "boner" from Boehner.

From Think Progress:

On the House floor today, House Minority Leader John Boehner (Boner) (R-OH) led Republicans in a walkout in protest of the contempt vote, alleging it is a “partisan fishing expedition.” The GOP is pushing for the House to approve the Senate’s version of the Protect America Act, which includes retroactive immunity for telecommunications firms. Boehner declared:

We will not stand for this, and we will not stay for this. And I would ask my House Republican colleagues and those who believe we should be protecting the American people, to not vote on this bill. Let’s just get up and leave. (Applause)

I just love it when repukelikans regurgitate on their shoes. They have not a clue and obviously could not give a shit about anything that really counts to the average citizen. Anyone voting for any of these preposterous idiots is throwing their own interests into the trash.

A decent sign, "Even without the Republicans, the House contempt vote against Miers and Bolten passed, 223-32".

Bejebus, I hate these guys.

Too bad they can't just expand the contempt vote to include every last Republican still standing firm with this maladministration.(Hey, whattayaknow...that's a word!)

Too little too late, but now that the economic black hole is starting to pull on the more affluent, it seems to be focussing their minds a bit. Of course, it's only because it now affects them, to hell with the poor.

MoJo:
At 11:05 am this morning, Diaz-Balart [R] offered a motion to adjourn, which, if passed, would have ended the House's legislative day. It appears the intent was to keep the House from debating contempt citations for former White House Counsel Harriet Miers and White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten, which were on the agenda. According to the Congressional Research Service, "A motion to adjourn is of the highest privilege, takes precedence over all other motions, is not debatable, and must be put to an immediate vote." That means that the members of the House had to leave the Lantos memorial where they were paying their respects to vote on the House floor, for nothing more important than to keep the day's business open.

The repugnants staged a walk-out to protest the bill that they voted against extending could now expire as a result (a bill which had absolutely nothing to do with the contempt vote).

Chairman Reyes Writes to President Bush: “Put partisanship aside” on FISA

"I'm Staying Here To Work On FISA" -- John Conyers:
The President’s efforts to cast blame on FISA, echoed by his allies in Congress, show an appalling disregard for the facts. He threatened to veto any extension of the Protect America Act and, following his lead, every single Republican in the House voted against the 21 day extension I sponsored in the House. The President and House Republicans cannot have it both ways, simultaneously arguing that the PAA is essential to national security and also engineering the defeat of an extension of it.

the only way i ever refer to "boner" involves both "tan in a can bastard" and/or "blow dried son of a bitch."

feel free to make liberal use of them. they are apt and damned near poetic.

I'd say that sums him up rather nicely. And poetically, my favorite is "tan in a can bastard".

Notice how they stormed out in such a magnificent huff, down the steps of the Capitol to immediately be in front of cameras?

Coincidence my butt. These bastard ought to start a circus. Just keep decent animals out of it, and hand out sidearms to the crowd.

Now that would be a turkey shoot I could approve of.

Although "blow dried son of a bitch" is looking better with review.
